Graham Scobey bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with the art of photography: the ability to stop time, to capture a single moment, and then to carry that moment with us for the rest of our lives.  It is this fascination that led me to a career doing just that.

I strive to bring a unique perspective to every subject I shoot, assuring that my clients’ moments are captured in a fresh, innovative style.  My goal is to not only photograph my subjects, but to encapsulate the very spirit of their momentous day.

Your moments are precious.  Capture them for a lifetime.

Guy and Melissa: Engagement Shoot

Earlier this week, I met up with Guy and Melissa at UConn for their engagement session.  I met these two around this time last year when they were dating.  Ashley and Guy are in the same grad program at UConn, and when we met I knew immediately from their homestar runner inspired sense of humor...

Matt and Hien: Villa Capri

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Matt and Hien’s wedding.  A big thank you to Jim Altieri for shooting with me! These two really make an amazing couple.  You can really tell just how much they love each other.  It was such an honor for me to get to share in their...

Jen and Jon: Old Lyme

Last weekend, my partner in crime (Ashley) and I rolled on down to Wallingford to photograph Jen and Jon’s big day.  The forecast said that the chance of rain was 100%, so we geared up for a rainy day.  Turns out we didn’t need to.  The rain held off and the clouds provided the perfect...

Sophia: Three Weeks

I’m finishing up a nostalgic visit to LA, and realizing that this place hasn’t changed much in the year and a half since we moved away: people I love, traffic I hate, ridiculously beautiful weather, ridiculously beautiful people, and a taste of every culture imaginable.  It has been great to reconnect with a few people...

Tom and Amy: The Boathouse

Man, it’s been a busy summer.  I am so far behind on blogging that I feel like I will never catch up, but you gotta start somewhere, so here it goes:
At the beginning of the summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Amy and Tom’s wedding at the Boathouse in Hartford with the very talented...

Jenn and Rich: A Villa Louisa

It felt like it had been raining all summer.  There hadn’t been more than a stretch of a few hours of sunlight in weeks, but by some miracle, Jen and Rich’s wedding day was clear and beautiful.  Ashley and I started at the hotel where the girls were getting ready.  Cassidy and Carly were extremely...

Ten Eyck Tuesday: June

A lot has been going on lately and I’ve fallen pretty far behind with my blogging, so I am going to make an attempt to catch up starting here.  In June Carla Ten Eyck put together an amazing shoot for her monthly workshop and Katie, Erik, Ashley and I got to jump into the action. ...

Shane and Samar: Oak Hill – Day 2

Samar and Shane’s Saturday ceremony was splendid!  All alliteration aside, Mike and I spent the first part of the day with Shane and his groomsman at the cottage where they were staying.  You could feel the excitement in the air!  As everyone was getting ready, Cyrus rested up so that he would be ready to...

Shane and Samar: Oak Hill – Day 1

Over memorial day weekend I accompanied Carla (along with Mike and Katie) to a three day wedding event on the Hudson in New York.  To kick it all off on Friday night the family held a Mehndi ceremony in the beautiful barn at Oak Hill.  These celebrations are traditionally women only, but Shane and Samar...
